We offer half and full day classes in canoeing and kayaking. Classes vary from one on one private instruction to full group instruction. Here you will have hands on training in how to safely and effectively paddle a canoe or kayak. We offer classes in flat water, slow moving water and fast water conditions. Our classes are often taken prior to doing a trip on one of our many river and lake trips. All instructors are Registered Maine Guides.

Fly fishing classes

Here is where you can take advantage of the Guides extensive knowledge and maybe some of his secrets as well. You will learn the basics of fly-fishing whether it is casting, retrieving, proper line size and weight or what flies to use. Your Guide will give you specific instruction for the species of fish your going out to catch. The area rivers and lakes are full of Trout, Salmon, and Bass. This is a great class to take before venturing out on your own. This class is offered individually or in small groups. All instructors are Registered Maine Guides.

Scenic Canoe / Kayak Tours

We offer spectacular scenic boat trips. We have tours on the West and East Branch of the Penobscot River, and many area lakes including Millinocket, Ambajejus, North and South Twin. You will see some of Maine's most beautiful places and majestic views of Mt. Katahdin. If a hands on approach is what you're looking for we have many remote streams that are navigable by canoe or kayak. This is where you'll often find many unsuspecting wildlife such as beavers, otters, and waterfowl.

Nature Tours

This is a great way to learn about the flora and fauna of the area. Your guide will show you many interesting plants. Native Americans used many plants of the area for medicine and for food. You will see an abundance of wildlife and waterfowl in the area including Moose, Deer, Ruffed Grouse, Blue Heron and several species of ducks. On occasions you may see Bald Eagles and Maine Black Bears.
